On Spain's south-eastern rugged coast, limestone mountains tower majestically over the sea in the wine-producing region of Alicante. For more than 2000 years, vines have been grown in an ideal microclimate, surrounded by pinetrees, evergreen oaks and olive groves, gently caressed by Mediterranean breezes.
Of old, vines have shaped traditional life in the region of Alicante Mountains, modelling its rugged sierras into terraced vineyards up to the very top of the hills, and encouraging commerce between the different cultures that chose to live in this land.
