Maigmó is a sweet red wine elaborated only with grapes of the Monastrell variety. This grapevine is located on the hills of the Parque Natural de Maigmó, which is 600 meters above the sea and whose microclimate is typically Mediterranean. Thus, Vins del Comptat restores the use of this grapevine with 60 years of history. This variety is typical from Alicante and is settling as one of the trendiest varieties: Monastrell. On top of its excellent aromatic qualities, it has been proved that the Monastrell grape variety is one of the healthiest in the world due to its high content in resveratrol, a powerful antioxidant that helps prevent cardiovascular diseases. The oenologist team at Vins del Comptat has created a mild, sweet, very aromatic, not cloying red wine aged for four months in american and french oak barrels from the Allier forest.
"Mild cherry, brilliant and clean. In the nose it is full, intense and inviting, with strong scents of pomegranate, strawberry, blackberry and black olives on a background of cocoas, roasts and balsamics. The bouquet is fresh, light and not cloying, featuring the scents of the nose. In the mouth it is smooth, velvety, and its end note is warm and persistent."
